I'm currently writing Under the Iron Cross, my second novel, which explores the life of Paula Boii, a secondary character from Secrets in the Shadows. Set in 1941, the story begins in Germany, where Paula becomes a nurse stationed in Ukraine—known to the Germans as "The Wild East." There, she grapples with the horrors she witnesses on the Nazi killing fields, struggling to make sense of the brutality around her.
